Humans are relational beings: biologically, psychologically, and in our practical, lived lives. Human evolution is a story of social adaptations, from our brain structures to our hormonal systems, and human society and culture is the story of our relatedness writ large. To take an interpersonal approach to practicing vipassanā and engage in a full investigation of the Dhamma as it pertains to our meditation and our relational lives, we will want to ask a series of hard questions. In light of the aggregates, what does it mean to be in relation? What does dependent origination, or a deep look at craving, mean in the light of intrinsic relationality? And finally, what do we discover about sangha and spiritual friendship when we meet another in the strength of sati and samādhi? This program will combine silent vipassanā and Insight Dialogue. Our meditation will harness the power of mindfulness and concentration, the guidance of the Dhamma, and the accelerating and penetrating factor of relationship, to explore the liberative nature of the eightfold path.

Prerequisites:

This program is limited to those who have sat either three 7-day or longer silent retreats or who have experience with Insight Dialogue and have sat two 7-day or longer silent retreats.
