Program Description:

In the Pali Canon the Buddha points to what he calls “the tides of conceiving”—thoughts and patterns originating from the three unwholesome roots of craving, conceit, and view. We crave sensations, feelings, thoughts; we compare what is happening to other times and places, to other conditions, to other people, and to ourselves at other times; we form views about the way it is and the way it ought to be. And these three ways of relating to experience so dominate the moment that this is where we tend to live. Practice involves seeing through these impulses and learning how to navigate around them. Note: This program is intended for graduates of the ISP Program. It will include contemplation of the suttas, Dhamma talks and reflections on this topic, and group discussions. Most of the day will be spent in silent meditation practice, exploring directly and experientially the material covered in the teachings.

Prerequisites:

This program is intended for graduates of the ISP Program.
